Panjaa Movie Review

Watched Panjaa today@INOX, ICON Mall

After waiting for so long for the release of the movie and the hype created by the Panjaa team generated lot of curiosity and zeal to watch this movie. Finally, got the ticket for morning show. In fact…there was no day that passed without listening to Panjaa songs. They were a runaway hit from Day 1.

Coming to the movie, the movie takes off with the plot to kill Jackie Shroff which continues to show the intro of his loyal assistant Jai (Pawan Kalyan). The storyline ain’t that great and it is regular stuff which Pawan has already done in his earlier movie Balu. The rest of the story is how he gets departed from his Boss and the consequences after that.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Average (Fans will like it). The Concept isn’t fresh, but the Director has a very stylish taking skills. The narration is slow at many times. We can clearly say that Vishnuvardhan has studied Pawan Kalyan’s earlier movies and including all the Positives of his earlier flicks and made sure to include then in Panjaa.

Highlights:

  • Pawan Kalyan.
  • Introduction of Power Star.
  • Cinematography by P.S.Vinod is real good.
  • Stylish taking of Director Vishnuvardhan.
  • Use of RED Camera for a few scenes is good and this technique was very useful for narration and brought look to the narration.
  • DI of the film is outstanding and is a Visual treat for the audience.
  • Best title sequence in recent Telugu movies (Pumps up the mood for audience, right from Frame 1).
  • Paparayudu song and Title song are the high lights of the movie.
  • Anjali Lavania legs :P & Sarah Jain’s Smile (at times) (papa inka bagaa tinali..)
  • Anjali Lavania has a short role but did her role justice.
  • Adavi Seshu has given a tremendous performance and has done justice to his role.
  • Few dialogues are very apt for Pawan Kalyan’s character and depicts his real nature outside.(Abburi Ravi has already stated this earlier in the audio function.)

Lowlights:
  • Slow narration most of the times.
  • Fights are more in number – but fans do expect fights in a power star flick.
  • Less humor quotient, though it picks up when Bramhanandam comes in to play.
  • Sarah Jain is too lean. As I said earlier – Papa bagaa tinali...in order to get some meaty roles in Telugu…need to add some meat to her (kidding).
  • Anjali Lavania has a short role. She isn’t a heroine material for Telugu audience.
  • The title song was placed at the end before rolling titles which I feel is a big blunder for the movie. The makers do know that this is the main song which made the Audio a chart buster.

Well coming to the rating, it is 3.215/5 – as a Fan of Pawan Kalyan &
3/5 – as a Regular Movie lover. (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

Pilla Jamindar Review

Watched Pilla Jamindar today@INOX, ICON Mall

Went to PILLA JAMINDAR unexpectedly today. But, the movie was unexceptionally good. It was and out and out entertainer especially with sensible and undercurrent fresh comedy and sensible at the right moments with a good pace in the narration.
Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Good. It has a simple concept which is woven with an undercurrent message regarding the relation of money and people. How Humans are using the thing as persons and persons as things.

Punch line: Comedy and Entertainment quotient along with sensible dialogues.

Highlights:

• Production values of  Sri Shailendra Cinemas are apt and sufficient for the story.
• NANI has done his part with ease and he resembles like any guy next door. He has
   exceptional comedy timing.
• Srinivas Avasarala & Dhanraj need a special mention for the performances.
They are at their best in this movie.
• Characters design is simply superb and each & every character has its own weight to the story.
• Rao Ramesh & Bindhu Madhavi has also done their part well.
• The special mention and the best part and strength of the movie are “Dialogues”.
Dialogue writer Chandra sekhar have a great chance of building up a good career in his department. I’m just in love with each and every dialogue, especially the sensible and thought provoking ones.
• Ayyayo Jebulo dabbulu poyene song has been rewritten for the situation of the hero’s obstacles and
complication which arrives for his misbehaves in the hostel.

Lowlights:

• Music doesn’t attract the audience and the songs are kind of boring except “Jebulo dabbulu poyene” song.
• Second half has been dealt with less entertainment when compared to the first half and this might seem to   bore some. But the beauty of the film actually lies in highlighting the human values and its relation with money.
• Hero have less scope for performance in this kind of story but the heroine has done her part well.

My suggestion: It is a definite GO. Feel good entertainer.

Well coming to the rating, it is 3.5/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

Oosaravelli Review

Watched Oosaravelli today@INOX, ICON Mall

After the disastrous Shakti, NTR comes with Oosaravelli with lot of hype and expectations. The audio of Devisri Prasad has already become a chartbuster. The movie starts with Jr.NTR being kidnapped by the terrorists. He meets Thamana who is a fellow passenger in the Bus. The movie is of the Variations of the Character justifying the title Oosaravelli.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Average. The storyline has the required Adrenalin of a commercial flick and has the entire required plot where it has all the stamina to test the Director’s skill. I strongly felt that this characterization would be an apt one for Ravi Teja or Allu Arjun. Coz of their energy levels. Though Jr.NTR has done his part well, he doesn’t seem to be similarly built throughout the movie. He has put on weight in some scenes and he is slim in a few scenes. This might be coz of the long duration for which the movie has been taken.

Punch line: Storyline and Background

Highlights:
  • Production values of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra are Impeccable.
  • Cinematography is good apart from a few glitches caused by VFX.
  • Few comedy scenes and expression by Jr.NTR.
  • The VFX for the Introduction of Jr.NTR needs a special mention.
  • Thammana’s performance in the second half should be tremendously applauded. She has yet again proved that she isn’t just for the glamour part like any heroine. She has done a wonderful job for the performance part.
  • Background by Devisri Prasad just adds the required amenity to the movie.
  • Story by Vakanta Vamsi is good.
  • My favorite songs on screen are Sri Anjaneyam (it carries the emotion of the movie to the next level), Niharika Niharika, and Brathakali.

Lowlights:
  • Getting bored of Prakash Raj’s same old DON roles, who lives in abroad and comes in the middle of the movie.
  • 2nd Half seems to a bit boring with slow paced narration.
  • The entertainment Quotient in the second half could have been a bit more.
  • Yelango Yelango & Dandiya songs have been spoiled.
  • Jr.NTR’s mismatching weight throughout the movie and his hairstyle does suit to the character.

Well coming to the rating, it is 3/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

Dookudu Review

Watched Dookudu today@INOX, ICON Mall

After grabbing the much hyped movie of Superstar Mahesh Babu’s "Dookudu" movie. Couldn't wait to watch it. Though it was the 2nd day to watch the movie. Watching it in a multiplex doesn’t make any difference whether it is a 1st day or 2nd day, Coz everyday seemed to be same here. Yeah we really miss the excitement of watching a star movie in ordinary theatre. But the quality of regular theatres has come down to a great extent on par with the new ones packed up with excellent projection and sound system. So I decided to sacrifice the excitement of the regular format theatre for the quality of the movie. Especially for a big star and the hype it has got. The theatre has been packed to the core.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Good. The Concept is simple and woven commercial flick and the story is designed exclusively for Mahesh keeping his image and his fans expectations in mind. The Director has handled the script well and the movie has been executed well apart from few small glitches and the length. The movie has all that you need for a commercial big star flick with lots of entertainment and commercial elements.

Punch line: Comedy and Dookudu. This is what one can expect from Mahesh. His comedy timing has been tremendously hiked from that of Khaleja.

Highlights:
  • Production values of  14 Reels Entertainment
  • Cinematography of Guhan is good and too good especially in Istanbul. As DOOKUDU is the first Telugu movie to be shot in Turkey, the visuals look refreshing.
  • Mahesh’s impeccable energy and performance. The entire movie is carried on his shoulder and he has done justice to the character as well as the movie.
  • Sony Sood has done his part and the voice of his dubbing is mention worthy.
  • Prakash Raj has been tremendous with his performance as usual.
  • I have read in some post reviews the first day of release about M.S. Narayana’s comedy that it didn’t go well. But for me, it has worked definitely well, especially the parody scenes of Jr NTR, Balaya babu, Ram charan.
  • Background score is good.
  • Costumes of Rupa Vytla for Mahesh Babu are good. She has done a great job for songs especially “Itu Raaye Itu Raaye” song. This song has been my personal favorite as per visuals.
  • Bramhanandam performance is good as usual but has done his regular kind of character.
  • A few Fights are good too.
  • Sivareddy has done his part as for the mimicry and as “KAJA”.

    Lowlights:
    • Length of the movie is a bit more as nowadays audience are used to shorter flicks and in this age of short films 3hrs movie got to have real SPORT in it. In my view, it can be trimmed a bit more for at least 10 - 15mins.
    • Master Bharat has been wasted to the core.
    • Too many characters created havoc at times. Sreenu Vytla always keeps on using more no.of characters in his films, and keep on introducing character till the last 30 mins of his movies. I seriously don’t find any need for Dharmavarapu Subramanium's character in the second half. All I find is that Sreenu Vytla wants to use his team of artists and somehow create characters for them.
    • Samantha has nothing to do with the story except for the songs and the requirement of a heroine for Mahesh. But she has the TAG of a Lucky heroine as the projects she is in, are doing well at the box-office.
    • Na Paaru(Parvati Melton) chikkipoindi ee movie lo : (

My suggestion: It is a definite GO.

Well coming to the rating, it is 3.25/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

    Money Money More Money Review

    Money money more money

Watched Money money more money today@INOX, ICON Mall

Having pinned hopes for this movie as it is the sequel to the most famous MONEY of RGV and the fame that it has brought to the Khan dada character in the 90’s. It has attracted me to watch the movie and was waiting for this movie for the sole reason that it has Bramhanandam.

The movie starts introducing Khan dada as a real estate businessmen where he loses all his money due to the downfall of the market. The movie is a remake of the Hindi film ‘Darwaja Bandh Rakho’, a film directed by J.D. Chekravarthy himself. The story revolves around four unemployed youths (J.D.Chakravarthy, Brahmaji, Kevin Dev and Mukul Dev) who face severe monetary difficulties. After having had enough, they decide to kidnap a rich man’s daughter to make a quick buck from the girl’s father. The rest of the movie is a series of errors which bring a few smiles to the audiences.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Not Good. The Concept is’nt new though, and movies with such wafer thin storyline should have a tight screenplay and planned execution. It seemed like J.D.Chekravarthy just encashed the title just for the business reasons.

    Punch line: Kidnap and money
    Highlights:
    • Brahmaji’s performance is noteworthy
    • Cinematography is good but could use it well though by the director.
    • A few comedy scenes.

    Lowlights:
    • Bad comedy which doesn’t bring smiles at all.
    • Slow movie duration (as there are no songs and fights).
    • Khada dada character has been spoilt to the core. Fans of this character will have a hard time watching bramhanandam.
    • Asha shaini’s and Tamil comedian Jeeva’s characters are a mere waste.
    • I wonder how J.D.Chekrevarthy brought the big player RELIANCE into this movie’s association.

Well coming to the rating, it is 2/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

    Kandireega Movie Review

    Kandireega
    Watched Kandireega today@INOX, ICON Mall

It’s been a week late that I watched it after the release.
     Anyways Better than never.
Coming to the movie, the movie takes off with Ram coming to Hyderabad from Anakapalli for studying his degree, where he meets Hansika and falls in love. The story runs around him, hansika, Sonu sood in the first half and suddenly there is a twist in the second half. Well the remaining part has to be watched on the screen though : ) .

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Average. The Concept is a woven commercial flick and the story is designed exclusively for Ram and his energy. The Director has handled the script well and the movie doesn’t seem like a fresher movie. The movie has all that you need for a commercial flick with entertainment and mass elements. The title has no justification with the story by any means.

Punch line: Comedy and Commercial elements.
    Highlights:
    • Production values of  Sri Sai Ganesh Productions
    • Cinematography is good.
    • Ram’s impeccable energy and performance. He has put lots of effort for this movie and it shows up clearly on screen.
    • Sony Sood should be appreciated for accepted this character. He has done a tremendous job by his performance and comedy which is entertaining and not like his routine Bad Guy type of characters he has done in Telugu Movies so far.
    • Champakamala & Preme Poinadile Songs were canned well.
    • Background is good.
    • Srinivas reddy comedy brings few smiles in the intro scenes especially when he imitates Mikkilineni garu.
    • The Idea of Telangana Slag for Aksha is new and brings smiles at times in the movie. Aksha is apt and has done a good job with her performance for her character.
    • Fights give us a fresh feel. Great job by the Stunt Coordinators Stun Siva.
    • Swathi’s cameo role is good.

      Lowlights:
      • Hansika puts on weight and doesn’t look that good when compared to Aksha. She needs to look out to her weight. Hansika should also develop her dancing skills.
      • Slow paced narration in first half.
      • Lots of characters keep on coming into the flow of the story which irritates the audience at times.
      • Story has nothing new. Seems like it is inspired from various previous Telugu Run and Chase kind of Stories modified with some twists.

Well coming to the rating, it is 3.15/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

      Dhada Review

      Watched Dhada today@INOX

I expected the movie wouldn’t go well after seeing the Trailers of the movie. This is coz of Naga Chaitanya’s Chocolate boy kind of Image he got with Em Maya chesave and 100% Love. But, after listening to the audio of Dhada I’ve got a positive interest to watch the movie, especially for the music which Devi has scored. After hearing from a few friends who had watched the movie on Day 1. Thought of dropping to watch the movie, but being a long weekend, couldn’t resist myself from watching the movie.

Coming to the movie, the movie takes off with Vishwa’s (Naga Chaitanya) convocation ceremony with an Introduction chasing sequence. The story revolves around human trafficking and the characters relating to a small incident there by recurring a sequence of incidents.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is the Worst movie I have seen in this Calendar year. There is no point in making the movie after listening to the story line. I wonder how Kamakshi  Movies banner has started this movie after listening to this narration from Ajay Bhuyan. I expected that a person who has done his graduation in IIT would have done a minimal research and make his script very Logical or at least convincible.

Punchline : DHADA DHADA DHADA (Hero ki villan ki kaadu; Movie ki Audience ki.)
      Highlights:
      • Good Camera work in some parts.
      • Production values of Sri Kamakshi Enterprises
      • Devi’s Songs (relating to the Audio part- Ignoring the Videos)
      • Sriram’s natural & subtle action.
      • 2nd Fight in the Godown.

      Lowlights:
      • Illogical narration (The worst screenplay possible).
      • Mediocre Songs (The songs really disturb the narration of the movie)
      • Kajal (Hero ne Bad anukunte….Heroine dani amma mogudu laga undi).
      • I wonder what Ajay Bhuyan (Director) thinks about the audience, he show the heroine taking pictures with a Digital SLR camera, and finally develops a reel in the dark room. How can he miss such simple logic damn it.
      • Editing flaws.
      • DI and VFX spoiled towards the climax shots.
      • Worst Costumes and Hair Do ever, possible for Kajal.
      • Choreography and misplaced songs. Believe me, it is such a pain for audience whenever you come across a song in this movie.
      • Bramhanandam is wasted yet again in another Telugu film. The comedy track between Bramhanandam and Ali sucks.

Well coming to the rating, it is 1.75/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Watched “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” @Sailaja Theatre, Vja.

Coming to the movie. This movie is about Genetic Engineering of Humans in order to develop the intelligence of Apes who are our ancestors. The experiment goes out of way to some extent. The movie is dealt with the human treatment of animals, DNA manipulation, corporate greed, family values.

There is nothing special about the film. It is watchable once. Frieda Pinto has done her character and has nothing special relating to the pace of the story.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Average and is watchable once.

      Highlights:
      • WETA FX team has done with ‘Caesar’ here is astonishing, pushing back the boundaries of what the technology can do. He just looks so natural.
      • The battle on the Bridge between Apes and cops on horseback in startlingly fresh and original and hence unpredictable.
      • Some emotional scenes carry out well with the audience.

      Lowlights:
      • Too easy to predict story line. Kind of any typical Telugu film story.

Well coming to the rating, it is 3/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

      Nanna Movie Review

      Watched Nanna Yesterday@Jaihind, Vijayawada

This week has been a week for Dubbing movies. So picked out Nanna from the bunch to watch.

Coming to the movie, the movie takes off with Vikram lying on the Road in an unconscious state. The movie is about the legal battle of a Mentally ungrown Father inorder to regain his daughter from his Grandfather.

Nanna is a slow paced sensitive family drama. It will definitely go well with the Multiplex audience. The narration of the movie is slow in the first half added to its length makes you feel bore at times. It happens to pick up its pace in the second half of the movie.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Good. Heard that the movie has been inspired by an English flick “I am Sam”, but the Director have done his work of making it sensible and cook up the cute comedy which is woven into the characters and story. Director has done a great job in getting what he wanted by Vikram.

      Punch line: Vennela Vennela.
      Highlights:
      • Vikram has done a tremendous job yet again with his performance as a mentally retarded father.
      • Cinematography of Nirav Shah is good.
      • I’m in Love with Amala Paul after seeing her in this movie.
      • A special mention should be made for the kid (Baby Sarah) who has acted as the daughter of Vikram. She mesmerizes the audience with her performance. I do not hesitate to say that she has dominated Vikram in a couple of scenes.
      • Anushka has got an important role to play after a long time.
      • Music by G.V. Prakash is an asset to the movie.
      • Sensible movie and a family entertainer.
      Lowlights:
      • The fast half is too lengthy and is slow paced. It can be trimmed a bit.
      • Too Much of Court scenes
      • Vikram taking a mature decision towards the end is a bit odd.

Well coming to the rating, it is 3.25/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).
