Dammu Movie Review

Watched Dammu today@INOX LEPL

Dammu Movie has been in news for quite a long time right from its start.  This is because of its director Boyapati’s massive hit Simha with Nandamuri Balakrishna. The release of the trailers in the audio function have raised the expectations to a higher peaks. Unfortunately, the final product does not match with the hype created around the release.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that this movie is Average. After such hype, audience will definitely have very high expectations. The movie has an old formulated story. Lots of violence, old styled screenplay.

Punch line:  Don’t Kill anyone, but kill every one.

Highlights:
  • Production values of Creative Commercials are very good.
  • Cinematography by Arthur Wilson was of top class.
  • Jr. NTR’s dialogues and performance.
  • Actions shots conceived by Ram – Lakshman are fresh and violent.
  • Art by Anand Sai is also adequate.
  • The buildup scenes of the hero are scripted very well by the director. Fans will be enthralled by these scenes.
  • Karthika has done her part well.
  • Venu’s and Nasser’s Performances needs a special mention along with Abhinaya.

Lowlights:

  • The screenplay lacks freshness and all the sequences are written to highlight the hero and his real life family background.
  • The family emotional scenes in the second half doesn’t gel well with the script while the violence in the second half is highlighted.
  • Trisha doesn’t have either commendable role or much footage in the movie.
  • NTR dances get monotony after Yamadonga. I feel that he uses same kind of steps and there is no freshness in his dances. I still can’t find where the problem lies. I don’t know whether the choreographers are responsible for this or is it NTR?
  • Lack of proper comedy, Bramhanandam has been successfully wasted yet again.
  • Double meaning dialogues where ever possible including song lyrics.
  • Background score of Keeravani is not upto his standard and I can confidently say that the Background score lacks the real “Dammu” in it. A few background score bits reminded me of Seetayya, Magadheera, Jayam, Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo, Seetarama raju movies.

My Suggestion: Those who love action and violent movies. Go for it.
Nandamuri fans will like it. Success of the film depends on how it scores with the masses and family audience as this is released in Summer season.

Well coming to the rating, it is 3/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

Battleship Movie Review

 Watched “Battleship” @INOX, Vja
Coming to the movie. This movie is about Aliens invading Earth for communication purposes. The plot was based on a board game. There is nothing special about the film apart from Half a dozen alien ships appearing in the midst of a naval exercise, and missiles fly. The opening half an hour that plays more like a recruitment video for the US Navy. The movie has some wonderful CGI Wizardry and a few action sequences which are close to the title of the movie.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Average and is watchable once when you have no other movies to watch for weekend.

Highlights:
  • ILM team has done wonderful CG and Visual Effect for the movie, especially with the Battleship firing sequences and 3D chainsaw balls cutting all the odd stuff out in its way.
  • You can watch and enjoy to some extent for its frequent explosions.
  • Good Sound design
  • Rihanna has done her portion well.

Lowlights:
  • Poor Plot and Screenplay
  • Thread like story line and easily predictable and nothing new.
  • The movie is dimwitted too.

My suggestion: You can watch it in theatres if you want to witness a two-hour long tech demo or else wait for the download to come.

Well coming to the rating, it is 3/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

Racha Movie Review

Watched Raccha today@Alankar, Vijayawada

Raccha has been the opener for this summer season movie bash. After the much required hype and success of the audio, the movie has released today. The movie has very High expectations on Ram Charan Teja as his previous movie "Orange"didn’t go well with the box office.

Coming to the movie, the movie takes off with Cherry (Charan in Childhood) coming out of a lake after taking a holy dip along with his father (Parthiban). He is known for is mannerisms right from his childhood. He meets Ammu (Thammana in childhood) who is the daughter of Charan’s friend. The hero loses his family along with Thamana’s family in a blast. Charan grow up with another family. He continues his livelihood by betting’s, He was in a situation where he got to bet for a huge lump sum of money for the operation of his adopted father. The rest of the story is about the bet and the circumstances which arise out of this bet.

"Raccha" is a commercial mass masala flick which is like any another Telugu commercial format.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Avg. The movie is like any other regular commercial mass movie. It has all the necessary ingredients apart from strong story line.

Punch line: Extreme mass commercial flick, fights and songs, Only for Charan fans.

Highlights:
  •  Production values of Mega Super Good films are very good.
  • Art of Anand Sai is good.
  • I just loved the song picturisation of “Dilaku Dilaku” & “Singarenundi”
  • Choreography for “Dilaku Dilaku” song steals the show.
  • Dances by Ram Charan Tej and Thammana are good. They make a wonderful Duo while dancing.
  • Stunts have been well composed.
  • Dialogues of Parachuri brothers have fired well. Most of them were concentrated for mass fans.
  • Mannerisms of Charan remind us of Chiranjeevi most of the times. (Fans will cherish them a lot)
  • Ram Charan Teja’s Dances, Dialogue Delivery and Mannerisms
  • Manisharma’s Background Score is as usual

Lowlights:
  •  Blurring issues (Vana Vana song (not about the Buddha statue), and a few scenes) with Cinematography.
  • Mediocre Visual effects especially in the Intro scene of Charan and Blurring issues.
  • Regular format commercial movie with no freshness in the story line and easily predictable.

My Suggestion: Might not go well with the Box Office. Full Mass Entertainer, for Charan Fans.

Well coming to the rating, it is 2.75/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

Three Movie Review

Watched Three yesterday@INOX

Everyone will have high expectations of a movie which has the tremendous roaring hit on YouTube. Yeah, I am talking about “Kolaveri Di” song. This catchy song had made India go wild and attracted may people from other parts of the Globe on Youtube. This is why the movie has created a lot of interest. Happened to watch THREE yesterday.

Coming to the movie, the movie takes off with Dhanush seeing a girl (Shruthi Hassan) in rain going to school. He instantly falls in Love at the very moment when he sees her on the Road. He finds out her school address, joins the same tuition as hers, follows her and finally gains her Love. Both of them will be in Love for five years after which they marry each other against all odds from their parents. The second half, gives a U-turn to entire characterisation of Dhanush revealing his Bipolar Disorder after which he turns maniac, the remaining movie must be watched screen.

"Three" is about Intense Love and Bipolar maniac Syndrome. It has a very good screenplay and intense love story and some extraordinary performances by the lead pair.

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Good. The Concept is a kind of routine, but at the same time different, but the Director Aishwarya, has scripted a brilliant screenplay for the story, though this is her debut movie. She has definitely presented her script on the screen very well.

Punch line: Intense Love story and Extra Ordinary Performances by the Lead Pair.
Highlights:
  • Extraordinary Performance by Dhanush.
  • Three is the real revealer of Shruthi Hassan’s performance till date in her entire career.
  • Wonderful Music and songs by Anirudh Ravichander are very Apt for all the situations in the movie.
  • Cinematography by Velraj is praise worthy.
  • Makeup of Dhanush and Shruthi Hassan for their respective age differences is so natural and maintained well.
  • Aishwarya R.Dhanush script and screenplay is good she has maintained the suspense till the end.
  • Three is an intense-romantic drama, which is youthful to the core.
  • Songs are well picturized and blends well with the script.

Lowlights:
  • Film gets boring at a few parts.
  • The last phase of the film fails to impress the Telugu audience.
  • The pace of Narration, of the film sinks toward the end of the movie.
  • Editing could have been better.
My Suggestion: Must watch film especially for the performances of Dhanush and Shruthi Hassan.

Well coming to the rating, it is 3.25/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).
