Transformers : Dark of the Moon Review

Watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Hereby called as “Transformers 3” in this review) @INOX.

Didn’t know that it released till yesterday night. I guess it was a silent release with no hype, or did I miss something relating to this publicity part : ). Anyways finally showed up to it today, especially for Optimus Prime and Rosie Huntington.

Coming to the movie. This movie comes from the director Michael Bay who made great Action flicks like ARMAGEDDON, PEARL HARBOUR, BAD BOYS, THE ISLAND, TRANSFORMERS . This movie is about the final epic showdown between Optimums Prime and Sentinel Prime, Sentinel chides his opponent Optimus Prime who is his former pupil. The adventures kick starts with the Apollo 11 mission regarding the Man’s Landing on Moon in the 1960’s and the secret operation carried out on the moon which is hidden from the human's notice from thereon. It all about rebuilding the Cybetron Planet again using the pillars and stuff found on the Moon..Blah blah!!
After the disaster of Transformer : The Revenge of the fallen (Transformers - 2) at the box office, Michael Bay has promised that he will get back the Roller coaster ride on to the track with his third instalment, i.e. Transformers 3. I guess he has kept up his word at least with the action part of the movie.

My favourite parts of the movie were Rosie Huntington (she never was behind my expectations at any given point of time :P, though I miss Megan Fox in the Transformer series for some reasons : ( ) – I just loved her Intro Scene in the movie. Michael might have watched her Victoria Secrets Ad campaigns a hell lot of times I presume :)

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Good apart from some slow paced screenplay at parts in the first half of the flick. Transformers 3 is packed with all the action you crave for, I can guarantee you that.

Highlights:
  • Its explosions and crashes are massive and mesmerizing.
  • The Movie seems to be like a Visual effects Dictionary to me (Especially with the stuff relating to ARC).
  • Rosie Huntington eye candy treat and a bit fuelling to a superfluous romantic subplot
  • Amazing Background score, I’m in love with the sound effects relating to the autobots and the transforming sounds :), wish I could make them as my mobile ringtones : (,  the problem is that they won’t sound good on phones. Hope we get good mobile phones in future, which truly replicated the theatrical sound over phones.

Lowlights:
  • Movie, is slow at times in the first half of the flick, the second part reimburses the wait with more action, packed and pumped into the flick though.
  • Movie is a bit lengthy (I watched my watch for 2 times :P)

Well coming to the rating, it is 3.75/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

180 Review

Watched '180' today@INOX

The Ads of 180 had created the necessary hype for the movie. Which inturn created more interest and dragged me to watch this movie on 1st day. Though I had no much expectations unlike others, I loved the cinematography of the movie when seen some frames in the Ads and decided to watch this movie.

Coming to the movie, the movie takes off with Siddarth coming to Hyderabad and staying in a rented house. The story runs around him and to find out his mysterious who? Nitya is a photo journalist who gets interested in Siddarth who helps people in his neighbourhood. Well the remaining part has to be watched on the screen though : ) .

180 is about disease and sacrifice and life and the way u live it. It can be called a Romantic Drama and is seriously a flick for exclusive Multiplex audience. The narration of the movie is too slow which might test ur patience at times.

Well, straight to the point...I felt that the movie is Average. The Concept is novel, but the Director couldn’t make the impact of the novelty in his narration coz of its slow paced narration. Director is to be accoladed for his masterpiece locales and camera framing, which is a like a knife on a cake from this Ad Film maker who is in the industry for 15 strong years.

Punch line: 180 = 6 months; Life and its consequences.
Highlights:
  • Production values of Sathyam Theatres, SPI Cinemas & Aghal Films.
  • Cinematography of Balasubramaniem.
  • I just loved the song picturisation of “Ee Vayasika Raadhu”  “AJ” “Nee Maatalo” & “Padha Padhamandhi”
  • My ‘Priya Anand’ :P, Juz Rocked her performance and blew the frames where ever she is present. She is such a lovely damsel. Looks very beautiful especially in the blue dress gifted by A.J for her Birthday. I just loved that costume.
  • Best use of RED Camera
  • 180, is the best Visual grandeur movie which I have watched in recent times after Magadheera.
  • Songs and Background Music by Sharreth (for people who doesn't know him, he is the music director of Kalavaramaye Madilo *ing Colors Swathi) are of Top notch quality.
  • Sound Design by Tapas Nayak also needs a mention.
  • Colorist ‘Kevin Shaw’ just treats your eyes with his color grading.

    * I’m inspired by this song “Padha Padhamandhi” doesn’t know why. May be coz of its wonderful emotional and motivating composition.
Lowlights:
  • Confusing narration in the last half-hour of the movie.
  • Very Slow paced narration which tests the patience of the audience at times.
  • Less humor quotient, though it doesn’t matter for such storyline.
  • Narration and screenplay of the entire movie.
  • Nithya Menon’s makeup needs more concentration.
  • Did I miss the traditional song “Radhe Radhe” in this movie ?

Well coming to the rating, it is 3/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).

Badrinath Movie Review

                                                          Badrinath

Watched Badrinath today@INOX

After the Roaring Success of Adhurs, V.V.Vinayak seemed to be overconfident about his directorial skills. The movie is a mediocre one which V.V.Vinayak directed after Channakesav Reddy.

Coming to the movie, the movie takes off with Temple’s destruction and the point of securing the remaining temples in India arrives, which in turn, security for these temples and the Religious need come with an Idea of training a security team for these temples. (Similar idea is in the film Narasimha Naidu). Here comes Allu Arjun alias Badrinath – the macho man. The movie has a novel story by Chinna Krishna. But the movie isn’t executed well. For me, it felt like Desamuduru (the interval block) + Shakti (Security of saving Temples) + Magadheera (Background and fights, Sword, VFX)

Well, straight to the point...I feel that the movie is Average and better when compared with Shakti. The Concept is novel, but the Director couldn’t make an impact of the novelty in his narration.

Punchline : there is no PUNCH in the movie. Hence there is no LINE even.
Highlights:
  • Production values of Geetha ARTS (in fact overspent in some cases).
  • Allu Arjun Dances
  • Prakash Raj and Kelly Dorje and the Artist (who did Kelly Dorje’s wife)
  • Background in parts (Some are reused from Magadheera and sound similar to that movie too)
  • Visual effects
  • Allu Arjun Macho Body helped the character a lot and justifies it.

Lowlights:
  • Illogical narration.
  • Mediocre Songs (The songs really disturb the narration of the movie)
  • Tammana (Another good heroine would have added some mileage. There isn’t any requirement for glamour for this kind of story).
  • Narration and screenplay of the movie
  • The worst comedy track ever in recent times. (The entire comedy track should be deleted – it tests the patience of audience)
  • Editing flaws.
  • A costume of Allu Arjun neither matches the story nor the location.

Well coming to the rating, it is 2.5/5 (This is my personal opinion on this particular movie - U watch the movie and decide for yourself).
